Artisan donuts are all the rage these days it seems. With multiple locations throughout Seattle (and a strong following) the clear go-to donut shop is Top Pot Doughnuts. I have been putting off giving them a try in fear of liking them too much and enjoying them too often. I will admit…they are delicious. Thank goodness, donuts aren’t my vice. We sampled six flavors including pumpkin glaze, chocolate glaze, apple fritter, Bavarian creme, strawberry sprinkles, and coffee roll. My top two choices were the apple fritter and Bavarian creme; my husband’s faves were coffee roll and chocolate glaze. While the sugar content was overwhelmingly apparent (my teeth actually stung after biting into the first glaze!), they were worth the calories. Calories I do not want to know the total of. Anywho, the clear winner of our first trip to Top Pot was ironically the coffee. Standard drip and it was delicious.
