A few weeks ago E and I took a day trip to the beautiful mountain town of Leavenworth, Washington knowing that we wouldn’t see snow during our Christmas trip to the East Coast. It is a few hours drive from the city and a stunning winter view. We heard a lot of buzz around Leavenworth and it did not disappoint. The entire town is modeled after a Bavarian village; you certainly feel as though you are in Europe as you stroll through the town. There was more to do than we expected – lots of restaurants and coffee houses, wine tastings, carriage rides, etc. We spent the day popping into the cute boutiques, enjoying the local food and savoring the views of the snow capped mountains. This time of year, Leavenworth is extra special once the sun sets because the entire town gets lit up in Christmas lights. This has been one of our favorite WA day trips yet!
